Uniting Colors: A Collaborative Art Experience at Mocama Beer Company

As an abstract artist, time in the studio can at times be isolating, so it is a goal of mine to find ways to build community and connection through my art. I currently have the pleasure of serving as the featured artist at Mocama Beer Company in Fernandina Beach, Florida. My work can be found on display now and for several months to come - inviting the community to explore my creative works while enjoying a beverage. I was drawn to this place by the beautiful design, and the warm feeling you instantly get upon entering.

 “This place is about so much more than craft beer, it’s about creating a space for community,” says Simon Muldoon, Co-Owner and Brand Ambassador. Since community is something I too seek, we worked together to create a community focused event with music, craft brews and collaborative art.

Guided by my vision for an interactive experience, visitors were invited to participate in a collaborative art project that transformed a blank canvas into a captivating, quilt-like, abstract masterpiece.

The Creative Process:

As visitors gathered at Mocama Beer Company, each participant was encouraged to make their creative mark on the canvas. This created an environment where all artistic abilities were welcomed, ensuring that everyone felt comfortable contributing to the collaborative artwork. To keep an overall cohesive look, participants were offered assistance in selecting colors, techniques, and patterns that would harmoniously blend into the final piece.

Embracing Diversity:

One of the remarkable aspects of this art is the appreciation for the diversity of perspectives and interpretations within the community. Recognizing that each person brings a unique creative touch, participants were encouraged to embrace their own styles, preferences, and artistic techniques. The canvas became a space for varied expressions, with participants exploring everything from bold brushstrokes to delicate details. The collaborative artwork became a true reflection of the community's individual personalities.

A Tapestry of Unity:

As the event unfolded, the once-empty canvas began to transform, section by section, into a stunning patchwork-like artwork.
